Lighting

One of the key points in interior design and decoration is light.  Brightness helps a lot to achieve the desired ambiance.  Therefore, although a priori it may not seem a determining factor, light and lighting are essential when it comes to decorating.Lighting and Interior Design

Its strength, its opaqueness, if it is a sweet light, unnatural, natural or electric... all this can change the atmosphere.  Playing with the lights is essential to emphasize the strong points in a decor. All types of light can be used: cold light, black light, hot light, working with shadows...but you must know what type of light works well with what type of decor.  So, we are going to offer you a series of lighting tips.

First, let's talk about natural light.  If you are lucky enough that the room you are going to decorate has plenty of windows and receives lots of light, you should make full use of the entering light to illuminate the place.  There is nothing like the light of the sun to make a room happy.

In the winter, you should try to better capture the weak and natural light that enters, because that will serve to give more life to the decor and the ambiance, which, at that time of year, is usually more sad.  To best revive and disseminate the natural light that enters through the window, the tones of the walls are important.  These should be light, as they will make the room brighter. Electric light can be used in different forms depending on the place in the house it is lighting.  For example, for the kitchen or the office, the best are vivid, white lights that brighten and allow you to see what you are doing.  In a bedroom, you should look for the opposite effect, with indirect lighting, sweet and relaxing lights.

In the living room, an adjustable light is recommended as it changes with the circumstances.  For those, it is very practical to use different sources of indirect light with different low powered lamps, which will allow you in a moment to choose the amount of light according to the number of lamps you turn on.  We would like to take advantage of the opportunity to give a piece of advice not on decoration but on consumption and respecting the environment.  You should try to get all low consumption light bulbs for your house; they are more economical and less damaging for the environment.

Another type of lighting is with candles.  This is more of a decorative than functional feature, but you should keep them in mind.  Their inconsistent light brings life into dead rooms.  Also, a perfumed candle can give scents to the room that will complete the decorative ambiance.
