A clearly contemporary and very trendy style, the loft style is the result of a reconstruction of industrial locations in houses.  That is why you find large spaces with a very marked industrial look, taking its influences from a whole trend of decorative objects that have moved from their original concept to enter any type of residence.

The loft style is ideal if you like straight lines and order.  Also, it is a style of decor that plays a lot with light and the overture of spaces.  Light is very important in this style.  Natural light coming from windows and outside openings should flow freely and flood the space.

You should keep in mind that the loft style tries, whenever possible, to conserve the original structural elements and keep them in view.

Common areas and the more intimate areas are usually separated to maintain  intimacy.  This is distinctive in lofts: they have very open and communicating common areas with separate and isolated intimate areas.

These areas can be separated on the same level, but normally lofts have two floors united by a very visible staircase or ramp.
