The Mediterranean style is based on a very clear premise: let the sun flood the house.  The color and the heat of a Mediterranean style makes it an enormously happy, life-loving environment.  Broadly speaking, this is a relaxed and warm decor that brings with it a little of the style of vacations.

Colors that help to bring in light like white, aquamarine, ocher and olive green are the most suitable for the walls.  Also, we have to try to achieve a stripped decor, without much of a busy element, but with warmth, thereby creating a place where fantasy and reality mix.

Terracotta or wood floors, ceilings with visible ceiling beams, inside patios, or tiles are some of the very present features in Mediterranean style decor.

Wrought iron (in lamps, mirrors, frames, etc.) is also an indispensable element for creating a Mediterranean environment. 

Relaxed, uncomplicated, imaginative, decoration, sensitive to natural materials or characteristics of the area...this is the Mediterranean decorative style.
